We are constantly bombarded with tips and suggestions about how to live better lives. Many of us then are left with no action because we are too overwhelmed by the need to change! Here are 10 easy and non-traditional tips to improve your health and overall well-being.
1. Preparation:Preparation might not seem like a traditional health tip, but it really is the foundation on which to build good habits, which then determine your results. However, I can assure you that within a few weeks after ending your “diet” you gain back most, if certainly more weight than you did before. The fact is “diets” aren’t enjoyable or easy to follow, which is why they do not last long. We know what “good” food items are, but because of a the lack of time and understanding of how to prepare certain food items, we make shortcuts. Start by introducing more “good” foods in your diet.
4. Make sure you eat right
Alongside tip #3, it is essential to provide your body with appropriate nutrients. Make sure you have a hearty breakfast of protein, a small serve of carbohydrates and some fat. Example; 2 eggs, toast with wholegrain and 2 small scoops of avocado. This type of breakfast will provide you with energy throughout the day. Eat every 3-4 hours or when your body needs it. 5. Cardio Exercise
The best way to stay healthy is without exercise! It is essential to live a life full of vitality, ageing better and being more healthy. A majority of adults need between 6 and 8 hours of restful sleep each night. You decide which amount will leave you feeling alert and vibrant the next morning. Prioritize sleep by allowing yourself to relax at the end of every night in a manner that works for you.
Digestive health is the foundation of good health. If you aren’t able to have a healthy digestion, your body can’t absorb nutrients in your food. A healthy bowel can reduce illnesses and contribute to feeling and looking better. If you’re suffering from constipation, you may get headaches or even experience muscle and joint pain. The digestive system is in communication with other areas of your body and has an impact significantly on your overall health. If you think you’re blocked, you should increase the amount of fiber in your diet gradually. Take 1.5-2 Liters of water per every day to help things move along and start looking at areas in your lifestyle that can contribute to unsatisfied stool. Stress, eating in a distracted manner, certain foods and lack of exercise can all be the cause.
Stress in general can be beneficial to us because it motivates us to keep going forward and achieve the goals we set for ourselves in our lives. A constant stress, however, can trigger headaches, anxiety or insomnia as it is let to take over. Happiness in our lives is in direct proportion to the control we believe in our lives. If you’re worried about being overweight, do something to change it! If your relationship is leaving you exhausted and unsatisfied, then you need to take a major decision for your health long-term. Stress management is a continual process of managing your lifestyle in order to create the control you desire.
The increasing number of studies have shown that for humans to be healthy and happy we should build strong networks of support and friendships. Having friends is good for our well-being! Spend time every day for a connection with your kids, your partner and/or your fellow friends. Women actually produce an endorphin (happy hormones) from having good conversations.
10. Perseverance and action
The ability to be armed with the best tricks and strategies is excellent however, if you don’t implement what you’ve learned, and apply it consistently, then you are the same as if you weren’t aware of this information in the first place!
